Social support, debriefing and supervision have repeatedly been found to alleviate the risk, symptoms and experiences of compassion fatigue.

Supervision is part of a care professional’s ongoing responsibility for quality of practice. Supervision assists in professional relationships, reducing stress and builds capability through reflecting, sharing, attaining feedback and developing deeper awareness and knowledge.

A supervisor’s role is to provide support and guidance for continuous professional development in a confidential and emotionally safe environment.
